Life and things

Got a new battery for the lawn mower today.  It started up like a champ and ran  great.  I tried turning on the desk and nothing.  I threw up my hands and just gave up.  Jerry was next door in the back yard.  He bee lined over and asked what was wrong.  I told him I got a new battery and it ran great but the desk would not engage.  He came up and took one look and said the belt had slipped off.  I had checked the side pulleys but not the front one.  So off I go and got the front yard done.  I started the back yard but couldn’t finish because of the rain.

I made a couple of enhancements to the counter program and spent the rest of the day working on transferring the old blog here.  I’ve got from September through December of 09 in.  They are still in draft so no one can see them but me.

Work is interesting and possibilities will be presenting themselves in the very near future.  The time and effort spent on getting the Improvement Log system up and running over the last year and the hard press since September is starting to pay off.  I have a new title, I’m called a feedback analyst.  Effectively, I’m working Quality Control.  Now that we have the capability to listen to the calls that the agents are getting logs on I can respond to what actually happened instead of taking the work of the person who entered the log.  Eric and I had a meeting with Vic.  Vic was promoted to Training Department Manager.  He’s pitching the idea to the client that we take over the entire improvement log channel.  We would be monitoring other call centers including Tier 2 and IDS as well as another vendor if it flies.  We were both told that he would help us go down the path of any opportunity we choose as they present themselves.  Work is good.

I’m concerned about Nestle.  He’s eighteen now and starting to have problems with urinating in the box.  He can’t squat all the way down so he sprays some out onto the floor.  Other than that the little turd ball is fine.  Pam thinks he spaces out from time to time.  Hell, who woldn’t at his age.  I found a cat years calculator and the little fur ball is 89 years old!  Sparky is Sparky.  I still think of Lawry from time to time.  She was 14 when she passed.  That’s 73.  It’s hard to believe she’s been gone four years now.  And I have been back home in Louisiana just as long.  Time sure does seem to slip away from us.
