An Old Interest Renewed

I’ve picked up on astronomy again, I remember looking at the stars on camping trips when I was younger in Utah and was amazed at all the little points of light. I’ve always had a passion for photography. Back in December the Great Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter occurred, Pam was insistent that we go out and see it. I was able to catch a really bad pic of it with my Note 20 Ultra but you could differentiate the rings of Saturn from it. A week or so later Chris Truelove showed me how to take really good night pics with the phone since he has one too. And my journey began.

I started shooting images of the night sky in late December and early January trying to work out the mechanics of the process to get even a decent image. I got my first good night sky shot with the Note 20 in late December. I ended up getting a new lens for the Canon after a little research and took my first in focus night shots in late January with it. I joined a board called The Sky Searchers and got some really great advice from a really good bunch of folks and I ordered my telescope in late February.

The images below are definitely not the greatest but they are what started the journey. And I will hone my craft. So now the journey truly begins.
