I’m done with Facebook.  I’m tired of the censorship of the control freaks in the name of Internet safety, it’s not a real place for God’s sake, it’s some faceless corporation’s computers in a datacenter connected by wires to someone else’s computer.  If you don’t feel safe in your own home sitting in front of your personal computer with no one else around you because of something you read or saw on Facebook, you have issues that need to be worked out in therapy.  I’ve had posts deleted and my ability to tag my friends restricted by the fascist regime called Facebook.  Facebook controls what you see, who you see and when and if you can see them.  I have over 90 friends on Facebook that I have met in real life over the last 45 years.  I only see the same 10 of them in my news feed.  I know some of those 90 plus people really don’t use Facebook, they never did but I do know more than 10 do.  My last post indicated that my friends and family know how to get in touch with me and not 30 minutes later my sister called me to let me know she was going to come visit me for a while.  That is how we should interact with each other, on the phone, in person or by exchanging letters (emails for the millennials who don’t know what a letter is), not through some faceless bureaucratic fascist web site that controls who, what, how, and when you see something or someone.  We are Americans and we have the right to free speech, that is a God given right that was enshrined in our Constitution by our forefathers.  

I am going back to my personal blog site at strider.gifnet.us.  This is where I will be from now on and where I should have been for the last five years instead of helping make douchebag Zuckerburg a billionaire.  My friends can create a login at strider.gifnet.us and they can reach me there if they want to.  I’m sure my wife will never give up Facebook so you can also get to me through her.

For those interested I have set up a web site called NoChineseProductsHere.com and NoChineseProductsHere.net.  NoChineseProductsHere.com was created to facilitate research into companies to determine if they have business ties or factories in China.  It started out with just US companies but has since expanded to the companies that I have purchased anything from over the years.  There is the capability to enter a research request or a general inquiry.  No registration is needed to use NoChineseProductsHere.com. NoChineseProductsHere.net is its companion site that was created to facilitate an open forum.  This brings me back to my roots with computers and the online world from the early eighties through the mid-nineties when I ran a BBS.  The First Amendment is completely respected there and always will be as long as I draw breath on this earth.

Goodbye my Facebook peeps, I hope you find another place to call home in this place we call the Internet other than this fascist regime called Facebook.
