A TROPICAL STORM WARNING CONTINUES FOR AVOYELLES. According to Roger Erickson of the National Weather Service in Lake Charles at 6 a.m., Hurricane Isaac took a little jog to the west overnight before making its second landfall near Port Fourchon. At 7 a.m. on Wednesday the center of the storm was about 20 miles southeast of Houma moving to north-northwest at 6 miles an hour. The new forecast track looks very similar to the path of Hurricane Gustav in 2008, which includes a path throgh Avoyelles Parish. This will result in slightly stronger winds forecast over south central Louisiana, and the timing for some storm surge could happen as early a tonight from Vermilion Bay to Morgan City.
