It’s been a while

Well, here I sit at my father’s desk at the house in Marksville.  I wish he could have been here to see the advancement of technology over the years.  I connected to the Internet using my Nexus phone in tethered mode.  While it is not blazing fast, it is responsive.  I was going to try and set up my own laptop but I left the power supply in Bossier.  So I am using Pam’s to work on this.  When we got here Wednesday evening, we found the branch down that you see in the previous post.  It had taken the main power line to the house down at the pole.  Thank God for that so there was no danger from a live wire.  I called the power company and they actually responded in about 20 minutes.  We also made note of a branch in another tree that was stuck way up that poses no hazard to the house but if it came down it might hit the three main power lines running along side of the street.  Once we got power back on, Pam and I replaced the AC unit in our bedroom here with one I had gotten from the Death  Trailer.  It’s nice to have a good working AC unit in that room again.  It started going out in 2009 but hey, it lasted 32 years!

We spent the night at the local casino and hotel last night and played in the indoor pool there.  It was a pleasant time.  When we got back, we saw that there had been a red tie put around the tree with the branch in it.  I am assuming that it was done by Entergy.  Maybe they will be nice and cut down the one branch that is stuck in the fork hanging over the yard that poses no threat to either the house or the power lines.  We will see.  Last time I was here, I pulled the cord off of my chain saw, now I wish I had not.  That limb will make nice firewood.  I suspect once it is all cut up, it will stack two or three cords.  It will be nice to have the fireplace going again now that the front room is cleaned up.

I am going to ask Jeff, my brother-in-law, if he is willing to come down one day and help me make the front bathroom functional again.  The floor needs to be repaired so it can support a toilet again.  There is some much to do at both places and money is kind of tight right now but things are good.

I updated the application I developed for the training department at work to include the voice department and streamlined the import process.  And of course everything worked for me flawlessly, however, Vic broke it first thing out.  Also broke the error reporting module as well, so back to work on it on Sunday.  I also start another project for Tim on Monday for scorecard data.  I get any bonuses I am currently getting now.  The billing bonus is a no brainer but the CPS and FCR bonuses remain to be seen.  I was working WAHA help desk and there are no CPS or FCR surveys on that queue.  I took some regular calls through out the week and am hoping for the best.   I will also end up taking some calls on Sunday as well.

I think that catches everything up for now.
