Observatory Session – EP Astrophotography Prep

Well,

Here I sit on another hopefully clear night, it’s just past Full Moon with 0 DSD time, random rain showers also prevented me from setting up a OTA, early on so I decided to work on configuring for EP photography.  Something I’ve been wanting to do since I was gifted a complete set of Hyperion EP back in 21.  Unfortunately, I can’t remember by whom, The Sky Searchers experienced a catastrophic fuck up and lost everything prior to 21 including PMs.  I’ll eventually figure out who it was.

The Baader Hyperion EP set includes 7 EP total, 5mm, 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 17mm, 21mmand 24mm.  The plan eventually is to determine how much of an increase in effective focal length each EP will do.  The 17mm gives the most reasonable view so I figured I would configure for it. The EP was extremely easy to adapt with Baader’s M43/T2 adapter. So, easy enough to do.  I figured since the adapter was a T2, I’ add extension to make up the difference in 55mm back focus, which should be 48.5 with back focus of 6.5mm To easy, so the next task on my Observatory Session was to configure the shops image file server but not before dinner. BRB!

BE01, reprovisioned from my original astro rig SC01.  Didn’t take that long either, though I’m not sure what I can use it for yet other than testing astro gear!  LOL!

So, what now, ahh yes, flats, brb, got to go get the panel I use, do believe it is still inside the house. Well, got that but it is entirely way too late to start that process, five channels of flats, new monochrome finally being used.  I ordered a 268MC, color version of the monochrome, be kind of interesting to see what I can do with the cameras.

Well enough for now,
Clear Skies
