The shop is finally online, and I’ve moved in. I’m in the process of separating my work life from my personal life. First step, separate the area. I’ve got two offices now at Skinner. One in the home and one where I’m sitting at, my shop. My shop network, currently inhabited by my PC, Alexa and the lights. I’m connected via WiFi 6 to the main house. The connection is solid, and I’ve uploaded and downloaded at my full bandwidth 100MB/100MB.
The shop is 12×20 and fully insulated with a 6×7 roll up door and a 36×80 entrance/exit door and one door leading into the garage. I set up the desk and bench, configuring the L Desk as a U desk with my original work desk from Marksville. Then I butted a 48-inch work bench with peg board up next to the desk, making a T. I moved my personal gear to the shop and will be working from the house. It’s been a long time getting here but the move from Marksville to Skinner is fully complete. Last thing to do is move the three mounts to their locations in the shop. I would have done it today, but it’s gotten to be raining pretty much all day long. Oh well, at least I got the gumption to get me moved out of the office and into my den.
I’ve got to travel tomorrow for an appointment at the VA for my left shoulder on Monday. With all that’s gone on these last few months, I’ve finally gotten the VA to MRI my back, My lower back is just crushed on the left side, my mid back is fine, and my neck has gotten worse. It’s now C5-6, C6-7, C7-T1 and it’s curved funny. My left shoulder is to use my neuro doctor’s words, gnarly, when she sent to the shoulder doc. I also have some of the worse tinnitus in the VA system or so I’ve been told. I’ve hearing loss in both ears, more on the right side. The tinnitus is loud and always there. Never said anything because nothing to really be done. Well, the VA gave me hearing aids to the tune of $5,000 and was told directly that my tinnitus is caused by my exposure to loud noise and hearing loss. Now, need to figure out how to file that claim with the VA.
I’ve plans for this place in space, time will tell, time will tell…
The move is completely complete! All that is left is to clean up the old office, so we can start getting furniture for it to turn it into a guest bedroom that I’ll still work out of.
