About 2 miles to the north-northwest lies the village of Oak Grove.  It does cast a small glo that can be easily handled with the appropriate filters and in post processing.  Other than that, I have a 360-degree FOV starting at 30 degrees above the horizon of a Bortle 4 to 3 sky.  I will have to do some landscaping though.  The seller planted some trees that will grow to heights of 100 feet or more.  They will be taken down and replaced with trees that grow no higher than 20 to 25 feet.<\/div>\n

I am currently under contract with pending sale. I was due to close on the 7th of July, my birthday, today.  Happy birthday to me!  That’s been pushed back now to no later than the 31st of July. Plans are to slowly move there over the summer months, I hope to have the observatory up and running by the fall. The best compromise I can find in Louisiana.  There are darker locations within my price range, but Kay doesn’t like the idea of living by the Extraterrestrial Alien Highway in Rachel, Nv.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

All the astro gear has been packed.  Plans are to construct a small observatory building networked with the house by ethernet, reducing the costs with no need to build a warm room. Until that happens the obsy tent will be put to full use. More on that later.<\/div>\n
