With plenty of dark sky this weekend, I\u2019m going to try and get some imaging time in along with observation. The Canon will be mounted to the tube ring and I\u2019ll be using the 55mm to 135mm zoom lens. I set up everything and set up dry run. I\u2019ll be using APT on the NUC, while using RDP with my tablet using my phone as the hotspot. Set up everything for dry run in the office starting around 1400. Things are working like they should. Imaging will be in baby steps; APT has a lot of features to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Equipment set up started around 1700 and was completed by 1730. My methodology of Rough polar alignment seems to be pretty solid. I plan on taking images at 30 and 90 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
First set of images was pointed in the rough direction of Deneb. Plate solving after the fact confirmed that. Had a small issue with APT not wanting to plate solve. I tried blind plate solving the next day with one of the images with APT and it worked. That was the image that confirmed I was pointed in the general direction of Deneb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working with DSS, I managed to get 8 images to stack of the 30 I took at a 90 second exposure rate iso 800 with 15 bias, 15 dark and 15 flats. Good solid dots on the stars. Below is a major tweak session without really knowing what I was doing in Photoshop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
