As such it grew for almost six weeks unabated and became a haven for fleas. Scrappy and Trixie got them bad, the Front Line Plus didn’t seem to help since the fleas have to bite them for it to be effective. I got Adams Plus which is a spray that interrupts the life cycle of fleas for up to two months, as well as kill ticks and repel mosquitoes. The fleas don’t have to bite, they only have to get on the dogs for it to be effective. I also ordered Scott’s Turf Builder Summer Guard with insect control. That will kill the fleas along with a host of other critters for up to six months.

They don’t seem to have made it into the house, the kennels were clear of fleas. However I did spray them down with the Adams Plus. Lexie seems to be clear of them as well, no more scratching than I would expect. She’s been dosed with the Front Line Plus and doesn’t go outside. I’ve also kept her out of the office and the dogs are either kenneled or in the back yard until the Scott’s has been deployed.

Let’s hope the Flea Wars of 08 don’t come back to haunt me.

Had to fire my yard man, he didn’t come back and mow the dog area.
